Military Lands & Cantonment Department, Government of Pakistan (ML&C) has signed an agreement with Systems Limited for the development, integration, customization, testing and implementation of an integrated system to facilitate ML&C Department, including head office, six Regional Directorates, Eleven Military Estate Offices and 43 Cantonment Boards, in automating the business processes of its respective functions. Systems Limited is Pakistan’s first and one of the largest software house and the country’s foremost IT enabled service provider today, The project is expected to go live by the end of 2011.
Speaking at the occasion, Director General ML&C, Maj. General Ithar Hussain Shah said that Systems Limited has been selected after thorough review of the bids submitted as per the PPRA rules and is satisfied to engage Systems Limited as it has the expertise and extensive experience to successfully deliver large and complex IT projects within and outside Pakistan.
CEO Mr. Khurshid Ali, said that on behalf of ML&C Department, they are looking forward to work with Systems Limited to ensure that all the deliverables are executed as per the mutually agreed project plan, so that, project could be turned into a real success story.

The Military Lands & Cantonment Department is headed by the Director General, Military Lands & Cantonments. He is followed in hierarchy by an Additional Director General, assisted by five Regional Directors (i.e. Karachi, Quetta, Lahore Rawalpindi & Peshawar). They in turn are followed by Cantonment Executive Officers and Military Estates Officers. The domain of the executive officers extends to cantonments in which they perform municipal and quasi-judicial functions. The executive officers have to generate the funds by levying different taxes/charges.
Each cantonment board is headed by a President Cantonment Board who is a serving armed forces officer and the cantonment executive officer is the Secretary of the Board.
