Gender equality relates to the equal appreciation for the roles of women and men in the society. It works to overcome the barriers of stereotypes and prejudices so that both sexes are able to equally contribute to and benefit from economic, social, cultural and political developments within society. In societies where women and men have relative equality, economies grow faster and there is less corruption. Gender Equality aims to provide equal opportunities for men and women for education, health and professional responsibilities. If the women of our country will be healthy and educated, it will be beneficial for their families, communities and our whole nation.

Identification of Successful Projects for Improving the Employment Conditions of Rural Women

This study was carried out for the International Labor Organization, Geneva. It involved making a case study of two rural handicraft projects which have improved the employment conditions for the women of that area. In particular, it examined how women had gained the confidence to handle almost all aspects of the project. It focused on those aspects which would be replicable, specifically within the country, and provided possible guidelines for other countries.

Patterns of Female Employment in the Mining and Construction Industries

This study carried out for the Women's Division, Government of Pakistan, examined the socio-economic background of women workers at constructions sites, brick kilns and quarries, and their working conditions along with the factors which determined these conditions. The study involved extensive field work in 13 different cities and villages in all the four provinces of Pakistan.
