Evaluation of Government's Privatization Program
This study was commissioned by the Asian Development Bank. The report assessed the Government of Pakistan's current privatization policies, reviewed the institutional structures, set in place the general principles and techniques followed for privatizing State Owned Enterprises and the constraints faced by the government in achieving the objectives of its privatization program.
Evaluation of Government's Economic Reforms
This study was conducted for the ILO (ARTEP) to assess the impact of the government's recent economic and exchange and payments reforms on local financial and capital markets and domestic resource mobilization efforts.
Corporate Taxation in Pakistan
A study on the corporate tax structure in Pakistan was carried out for the World Bank Mission looking at fiscal policies and tax incidence in Pakistan. The study reviewed the income tax structure, the changes introduced during the last decade, the prevailing tax assessment procedures, the manner of dispute settlement, the methods and degree of tax evasion in some sub-sectors of the economy, the structure of tax incentives and their influence on investment behavior. The report concluded with recommendations on the improvements that could be made in the corporate tax structure so as to enhance tax compliance and improve the revenue elasticity of income tax from the corporate sector.
Implementation Completion Report
Engaged by the World Bank to prepare the Implementation Completion Report for the IDA assisted Karachi Special Development Project. The report evaluates the project's objectives and the extent to which these were achieved, the implementation of the project, its costs and benefits, the Bank's and borrowers' performance of their respective obligations and the degree to which the purposes of the loan were achieved.
Trends in Domestic Savings
This study was carried out at the request of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Research Section. It aimed at analyzing trends in domestic savings in order to devise policy plans to increase the level of national savings. One of the main objectives was the identification of the reasons for the gap between measured and potential savings.
Savings to Define the Social and Economic Implications of the F.A.O. Project on Prevention of Food Losses
This study which was carried out for the F.A.O. was designed to investigate the socio-economic aspects of post-harvest activities which merit consideration as they affect the rural poor. The study involved survey and field work in Dokri, Sindh. |
