Bank of the Future Forum 2022 unites the banking community in Pakistan

The 11th edition of the Bank of The Future Forum 2022 was jointly organized by Systems Limited and Temenos, marking it as one of the most significant global financial conferences. This event successfully united over 25 esteemed speakers of international stature and drew a crowd exceeding 500 participants from various segments of the banking industry. Among the attendees were prominent figures such as influencers, decision-makers, regulatory authorities, Fintech companies, analysts, and members of the media.
During the event, significant subjects within the banking sector were deliberated upon, targeting areas like composable banking, digital banking, mobile banking, and cloud banking. Furthermore, captivating demonstrations took place, spotlighting prevailing trends such as BNPL, payment solutions, and enhancements in core banking systems. Diverse fintech companies, including HID Global, Huawei, Validata, Abris Consulting, and ACI Worldwide, took the opportunity to exhibit their inventive products and services. This allowed them to engage with experts from both the banking and IT domains, fostering valuable networking interactions.
During her opening remarks, Ammara Masood, Global Industries GM BFS, Systems Limited highlighted the significant accomplishments that Systems Limited has attained throughout its history. She emphasized the remarkable growth of their 22-year collaboration with Temenos, illustrating how this partnership has flourished over time. Moreover, she outlined the future trajectory for Systems Limited.
Asif Peer, the CEO & Managing Director of Systems Limited, provided insights into the future trends and prospects within the worldwide banking industry, along with strategies for capitalizing on them. He also emphasized the synergy between Systems Limited and NdcTech, underlining their pursuit of becoming the foremost Temenos partner in the region. As the two entities collaborate, they aim to extend their joint influence into the banking community, showcasing their commitment to expanding their presence across new horizons.
John Schlesinger, the Chief Enterprise Architect at Temenos, talked about how the concept of Composable banking necessitates a departure from the conventional monolithic banking approach to embrace value chain banking. He offered his perspective that achieving composability within banking demands the technology underpinning it to autonomously break down into modular components and services, subsequently requiring reassembly. This connectivity serves as the catalyst enabling innovation within remarkably short timeframes, fostering the ability to generate substantial value within mere days.
Lee Allcorn, Director at Temenos MEA, shed light on the pivotal role of the MEA region in Temenos' operations, shedding light on the forthcoming trajectory Temenos envisions for this geographical area. He offered insights into the considerable importance of Islamic Banking within the region, highlighting the substantial demand that exists.
A panel discussion centred around crucial trends in the digital banking landscape brought together esteemed figures from the Pakistani banking sector. This included Shahzad Ishaq, Chief Digital Officer of MCB, Iqbal Fazal Ali Khan, Group Head of Digital Banking at Meezan Bank, and Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad, Chief Digital Officer of NBP. During this discussion, these industry leaders shared their insights on the imperative for banks to be contextually aware, pertinent, and committed to delivering a flawlessly seamless customer experience.
With that, one of the most prominent banking tech conferences came to an end while creating an enormous platform for the banking community to come together and bring about a change.
